Zagreb, June 29, 2009 - Adris Grupa and TDR received the Golden balance award (Zlatna bilanca ), a prize awarded by FINA (Financial Agency) and sponsored by the Croatian Government, granted to the most successful Croatian companies. Adris grupa won the prize for the highest profit in the science, technical and professional business category in the year 2008, and TDR was awarded a prize in the processing industry category. The CEO Ante Vlahović, MSc, received the prize on behalf of the Adris grupa, while Davor Tomašković, CEO of TDR accepted the one on behalf of his company.
Adris grupa is one of the leading Croatian and regional companies when it comes to the profit, competitiveness and innovation. It evolved on the foundations of the 132 year long business experience of Tobacco Factory Rovinj and with its annual revenue of 2, 5 billion HRK and profit that exceeds 500 million HRK nowadays is the regional leader in tobacco manufacturing and tourism domain. With an annual investment of 700 million HRK, Adris grupa is a proved leading national investor as well. Let us remind you that Adris grupa is organized in two strategic business units – tobacco manufacturing and tourism. In the tourism part of the group is Maistra, one of the leading tourist companies in Croatia, managing 14 percent of the tourist capacity and achieving the rate of 16 percent of overnight stays in the region of Istria. The tobacco strategic unit of Adris grupa consists of the previously mentioned TDR and Croatian Tobacco, Istragrafika, Adista and its foreign subsidiary - Rovita. In the year 2008 TDR’s total turnover amounted to 2, 34 billion HRK. The gross income before amortization fees, interest rates and taxes was 883 million HRK, and net profit was 617 million HRK. More than 50 percent of the sales is realized in export markets.
The business strategy of Adris grupa -“to be first, better and different” is the basis on which all business decisions of the company are made, which is reflected in the desire of Adris grupa , not only to be one of the most successful Croatian companies, but also to be an innovative, socially responsible company facing the future. In order to be continuously supportive towards the community in which it has conducted its business successfully, the company has established the Adris Foundation for which they provide 1% of their annual net profit. On two occasions tenders were invited to compete for the funds and the Foundation has granted nearly 11 million HRK. It is worth mentioning that the Adris grupa was awarded the prize for the best corporate donation program by the Donations.info Association.
